ART CLASSES
FOR ADULTS
Art classes combine instruction in drawing, design, painting and art history from a painters perspective. Learn fundamentals of drawing: negative space, contour drawing, contrast, point to point drawing, how to measure, perspective, how control placement on the page, and design.
Learn how to paint using either acylic or oil (depending on your preference). Principles of painting lean to fat, working to build your painting up using layers and working over the entire painting, color theory and design.
We look at many examples of art from the past and present as well as working from nature and the imagination.
In the spring semester we will continue to paint either an individual project or copying a favorite painting from art history. When the weather warms up we will begin to work from a model and concentrate on figure drawing and figure painting.

Art Classes
met on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. We meet every Saturday except
we skip one Saturday a month. On this Saturday the studio is open and you
can come and work but there is no instruction.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for the art class. All levels of expereices from
none to advanced are welcome.
Class Size
Class size is limited to ten people.

Art Class fee
is $50.00 per month. You must provide your own supplies. Make checks payable

Jim Janknegt
is a working artist and has exhibited his work in Austin and in most major
cities in Texas as well as other cities around the country. He has a BFA
from the University of Texas at Austin and an MA and MFA from the University
of Iowa in Iowa City. Resume
